Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain is one of those great feel good movies with a unique French touch. While exploring the trivial things in life, Amélie makes you realize that live is just simple and that people only need little things to keep on smiling.

The soundtrack to Pierre Jeunet’s romantic comedy “Amélie” features music by Yann Tiersen. His score represents the deepest romantic elements of French music, featuring parts played on the piano, harpsichord, banjo, bass guitar, vibraphone and a bicycle wheel (! at the end of the intro soundtrack). All pieces support the film’s atmosphere perfectly, and are completely charming in their own right.

I’ve listened to the soundtracks of Amélie at least twenty times by now, and I recognize the music for its stand-alone beauty!
